How to read an Ayurvedic product label

2026-11-01 · Precious Ayurveda team

A good label tells you what is inside, how much you get, and how to use it. Start there.

What to look for

Traditional names such as lehyam, ghritam or tailam describe the form of a preparation. They do not, on their own, describe what it does for you.

Ask before you start

If you are pregnant, nursing, giving a product to a child, or taking medicine, ask a qualified doctor first. Do a small patch test before using an oil on your skin.
